Pit Lord
A downloadable game for Windows
Pit Lord is a prestige-based incremental game where you play as an antlion, turning your pit from a simple patch of sand into a kill zone.
This is the first public Alpha Demo, and Pit Lord is still very much in development. Art, balance, progression, mechanics, and content may all change as the game grows. The main purpose of the Alpha Demo is to get player feedback so that I can prep development for Steam Next Fest, being held in a few months.
--------------------------------------Leave A Comment------------------------------------------
Right now, I'm especially looking for feedback on how the game feels to play.
Does progression feel satisfying? Does anything drag on for too long? What feels fun? What isn't fun? Was anything confusing? Most importantly: did you want to keep playing?
Don't worry about hurting my feelings! Your experiences with this alpha will directly influence how I balance, polish, and expand Pit Lord from here.
----------------------------------This Is Only The Beginning---------------------------------------
There is a lot more planned for Pit Lord beyond what you'll find in this alpha.
New enemies. New environments. New progression. New mechanics. New challenges. And plenty more that I'm not ready to reveal just yet.
If you're playing now, you're getting in at the very beginning; you'll have the opportunity to watch the game change as it's built.

Thank you for giving my little game a chance. Whether you played for five minutes or an hour, your feedback means a lot to me. I can't wait to make this something worthy of Steam Next Fest.
Blessings!

It would be nice to have prey already out and about at the start of a hunt so you don't have to always wait before you can do anything.
Not a bad idea! Ill add it to the list
1. Logic of menu items is confusing. One can choose to "quit to menu" when end-run popup is on screen, and nothing happens.
2. Game looks pretty simple but feels kinda laggy. Circle cursor moves with slight delay and thingy inside it moves with even more delay. My PC is kinda old, but I expected better performance.
3. Run goals are unclear for new player. Took me some time to understadn what my targets are and how to hunt them down.
Awesome feedback! When you say it feels laggy, do you mean outside of the normal perameters of the "dust ring lag"? That's a feature meant to be upgraded and eventually eliminated. Or are you refering to something else? Just want to be clear so i can optimize and fix where I can :D THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PLAYING!!
Yes, I was wrong about cursor lags. The "thigy it the middle" looks like a cursor and it moves correctly. Shooting circle cathes up rather slow, so I consider it a gameplay feature.
It's kinda hard to see what I should aim at and targets are moving rather fast. So game is (probably unintentionally) hard at a start.
For sure. There is an accessibility feature that highlights enemies if that might help with visibility early on.
Yes, highlight helps a lot on early stage!
Looking forward to hearing from everyone!!!
